Meet the author

Hey there! I’m Corinne—a storyteller, adventure-seeker, and proud mum on a mission to make geography fun for kids. I believe the world is full of wonder, and the (second) best way to explore it is through a great story.

By day, I work in the Environmental Sector, where my role is structured, analytical, and process-driven. While I love that side of my work, I also have a creative spark that I wanted to nurture—so I started Pickle Books as an outlet for storytelling and imagination.

My picture book, Penny the Pickle’s Backpacking Adventures: Seven Natural Wonders, is all about empowering young children—to dream big, be brave, and explore the world. Many of Penny’s adventures are inspired by my own travels with my husband, making the story even more personal and special for our family.

But what makes this book truly close to my heart is a little hidden tribute. After losing my sister to cancer in 2023, I wanted to weave her spirit into the story—so I created a special friend for Penny. A tiny ladybug appears throughout the book, watching over Penny on her journey, just as my sister watches over her loved ones.

I love reading rhyming books with my son, and the idea of having Penny go on a wild adventure to inspire curiosity, courage, and a love for travel is something I hope will resonate with kids everywhere.

In my free time, you’ll find me planning my next trip, taking my son on adventures and spending quality time with loved ones—because life is too short.

We believe storytelling is a powerful way to spark curiosity and confidence in young minds. Our stories encourage kids to explore, ask questions, and embrace the thrill of discovering new places.

We want to inspire kids to believe that no dream is too big and no journey is too far. With every book, we also celebrate family, love, and the special connections we make along the way.

Most of all, we aim to inspire creativity, courage, and resilience, reminding kids that with a little bravery, they can face anything and go after their dreams. At Pickle Books, we’re here to make the world a more exciting place for young explorers—one adventure at a time.
